Cortém winery has a self catering guest suite for holiday accomodation and can provide breakfast if required. The suite is ideal for the small family and has two big rooms, bathroom and separate kitchen which is fully fitted. The top room is set out as a living room with wood stove, sofa, chairs desk etc and one large double bed with a view through double doors, leading out to a balcony and terrace with fantastic views of cortem valley and the surrounding countyside. Sunset is in full view of the terrace and is ideal for eating outside or enjoying an evening drink.

The ground floor room has three separate beds and is ideal for children or friends. On the ground floor is also the bathroom with large shower and the kitchen. The apartment leads directly to the pool area which has a garden and different places to relax with hammocks and swing chair. There is also a grill area, the guest suite has a separate entrance and access by way of the pool area from the road and parking. The pool will only be used by the guests and maybe now and then by us, but in principle it is a private pool.

Included in the price of the apartment are gas, electricity and wood for the wood stove, there is also a welcome bottle of one of our prize winning wines and the opportunity to buy our wines at reduced cost during your stay.

Why Cortém?

Seen from its position in portugal cortém is very central and many historical sites and cities can be visited in a day. Motorway access is 3 km away and Lisbon is only one hour away. The picturesqe spa and ceramic town of Caldas da Rainha is 10 minutes away and in addition to its daily fruit and vegetable market and historical old town and baths, has all amenities and international supermarkets including LeClerc and Lidl where one can buy French and German produce. An hourly express bus service to Lisbon provides an alternative way to visit the capital city, Óbidos one of the most visited castles in Portugal is 15 minutes away.

Not widely talked about but certainly very important is that Cortém is definitely warmer, less damp and has more sun than the coast, which often has fog even in the summer months. Cortém is 18 km from the coast and all the beautiful beaches of the silver coast from Peniche, Baleal to Nazaré and Sao Martinho do Porto can be reached in half an hour. Our nearest beach, Foz Do Arelho, is at the mouth of the Óbidos Lagoon and has a beach on the inside of the sand bar which is much safer for children. Baleal, an international surfing venue, offers calm shelving beaches as well as the high surf.

Cortém countryside offers great opportunities for walks and excursions and with the pool area provides a holiday atmosphere which can become addictive with good wine on tap!
