1.Object

1.1 The general conditions presented, updated in May 2022, are intended for the order form, and the other elements referred to therein, to regulate the terms and conditions under which the provision of the Online Shop Service of Vale de Cortém Vinhos Biológicos Lda, with the address Rua João Alves 37- 39, Cortém, 2500-741 Vidais, Portugal under tax identification number no. 515 391 247, hereinafter referred to as Vinhos Cortém.

1.2 The purchase of any product that is available in the Online Shop implies acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

1.3 Any and all alcoholic beverages available for sale in the Vinhos Cortém Online Shop may only be purchased by persons of legal age in their country of residence.

2. Price, Product and Content Information

2.1 Vinhos Cortém reserves the right to modify, at any time and without notice, content related to commercial offer and information about products, prices, promotions, commercial conditions and services.

2.2 The images of the products may present differences in the product delivered, resulting from changes made by producers and brands due to changes in harvest years, and these same products are also subject to stock disruption.

2.3 Despite the efforts of Vinhos Cortém, some products may have an inaccurate price, which is why the company checks prices every time it carries out the processing of orders. Consequently, the prices presented in Vinhos Cortém are merely indicative and do not constitute a contractual tender. If the actual price of the product is lower than the advertised price, Vinhos Cortém will return the difference. If the price is higher, Vinhos Cortém will inform the customer of such situation by e-mail or telephone and will await their decision to accept the new price or cancel the order within 15 days by email.

2.4 Under Portuguese law, all prices shown in Vinhos Cortém include their vat rates in force, unless otherwise indicated. Only and only for resale professionals the values presented in Vinhos Cortém do not include VAT, being expressly written the information “Without VAT” always visible and next to the price.

3. Shipping costs

3.1 The values shown in the products are added the respective value of the postage to each bottle based on the calculation of the following factors: packaging and transport cost. The cost of packaging for each bottle is €2 (euros). The shipping cost depends on the weight of the order and its delivery destination. This postage value can be simulated inside the shopping cart with the desired products added and by filling in all the fields requested from the simulator. The total postage will also be automatically calculated when placing your order in the Online Shop. It should be noted that the factors of this calculation may be variable and change without notice.

4. Shipments and Deliveries/Pick-up in Vale Cortém

4.1 For orders to be sent to the requested address, the option of shipping – National Shipping (in case of Portugal) and International Shipping (in case of other countries outside Portugal) must be chosen.

4.2 In general, after dispatch, an order in Cortém Wines takes a long time to be delivered, about:

– 3 to 5 days in Mainland Portugal;

– 5 to 9 working days in the Islands of Madeira and azores;

– 4 working days in Peninsular Spain;

– 6 working days in the rest of Europe;

4.3 After the shipment of orders, the information for monitoring the shipment will be available in the account of customers who have placed the order with registration and a notification is also sent via e-mail with the link information for monitoring the shipment to all registered and unregistered customers. If for any reason the customer does not receive the shipping confirmation, he/she must contact Vinhos Cortém through one of the following contacts in order to send back all available information about the shipment of the order.

4.4 After the notification of shipment, customers must monitor the status of the shipment through the link provided by Vinhos Cortém, so that they are aware of the state of evolution until the time of delivery of the order, since Vinhos Cortém does not notify each change of status of the shipment.

4.5 All products sent by Vinhos Cortém must be checked at the time of delivery. If the customer finds that the order is damaged, he/she must return it immediately to the transport company, duly justify the reason for the return on the carrier’s packing slip and immediately notify Vinhos Cortém through one of the following contacts.

4.6 If after delivery, the customer finds that any of the items are not in conformity, he is asked to contact Vinhos Cortém immediately via e-mail info@vinhoscortem.com indicating the order number or the number of the document that accompanied the order, attaching images of the packaging as received and all items, so that internally the process of investigating the occurrence is opened and thus the situation can be resolved as soon as possible.

4.7 Vinhos Cortém is not responsible for shipments made to countries where their law does not allow the entry of alcoholic beverages. It is the responsibility of the customers to be able to seize their orders, as well as the payment of customs fees, if any. In case of the return of the products to Vinhos Cortém will refund only the respective amount of these same products, thus reserving the right to retain the resulting transport values. In case of doubt the customer can contact Vinhos Cortém before ordering.

4.8 Vinhos Cortém has contracted services with specialized carriers for the purpose of deliveries in Portugal, Europe and most countries of the world. Every effort is made to meet the shipping and delivery deadlines, however it should be noted that possible delays in deliveries may be of a nature unrelated to Cortém Wines, and it is not possible, in such cases, to guarantee exact delivery times.

4.9 Most deliveries are made during office hours on working days at the shipping address indicated by the customer when submitting the order.

4.10 In the event of an unsuccessful delivery attempt by the transport company by absence, a notice of passage shall always be left in the customer’s mailbox with the carrier’s instructions. Depending on the service and the carrier the orders must be collected at the place indicated by the same in the notice of passage, or the indications requested in the same notice should be followed.

4.11 If for any reason the customer cannot receive the order or pick it up at the place indicated by the carrier, the customer is asked to contact the Vinhos Cortém so that together the most appropriate solution can be found.

4.12 Before submitting the order, if the customer wishes to pick up the order in our Farm must select the shipping option ”Pick up in the Vale Cortém”:

a) The person whose name is described in the order note will only be authorized to pick up the order, unless it communicates in advance to Cortém Wines that another person (identifying the name) will pick up the order.

b) Orders for pick up in Vale Cortém may take 1 business day to be processed, all customers are notified via e-mail when they are available to be collected.

c) When going to the physical facilities of Vinhos Cortém, the customer must follow the confirmation / order number, ensuring that he received our notification of order confirmation available for pick-up, and thus avoid unnecessary travel.

5. Applicable Law

5.1 Vinhos Cortém recognizes to all its customers the right to resolve the contracts they enter into with them, allowing them to return, within 14 (fourteen) days, the products purchased under Decree-Law No. 143/2001 and Decree-Law 82/2008 of 20/05.

5.2 For exchanges or returns, the customer is requested to contact Vinhos Cortém via e-mail info@vinhoscortem.com indicating the number of the order or document that accompanied it, taking into account the conditions described below in the following topics:

a) To return the order, the product must be in perfect condition, and if applicable with its original packaging, accessories or promotional offers included, and accompanied by proof of purchase or invoice.

b) The return of defective products and wrong shipments shall be accepted, and Vinhos Cortém shall be responsible for the costs of sending and collecting whenever the customer communicates this circumstance within 14 (fourteen) days from the date of receipt of the product.

c) Once the goods have been received at our facilities and after validation of the condition of the same accordingly, the return of its value will be made according to the payment method made by the customer, or another solution previously agreed with the same.

5.3 Vinhos Cortém assumes responsibility arising from the defects of origin or raw material of the purchased product and if this is confirmed by the specialized team of Cortém Wines, the product will be exchanged or returned at no cost to the customer.

5.4 Vinhos Cortém will not accept the return of the product after use, or if it has been changed or modified.

5.5 Vinhos Cortém is not responsible for deficiencies arising from incorrect use, negligence, poor storage conditions or causes of force greater force.

6. Legislation

6.1 All purchases made on the Cortém Wines website are subject to Portuguese law. Any conflict or divergence of interpretation of the General Conditions of Sale Online will be submitted to the court Portuguese competent.

6.2 If the Client is outside mainland Portugal, Vinhos Cortém informs you at the outset that any judicial proceedings must be exclusively instituted in the Portuguese Courts.

6.3 In accordance with and for the purposes of article 18 of Law No. 144/2015 of 8 September, it is informed that the available ADR entity is the Lisbon Consumer Disputes Arbitration Centre, with the following contacts:

These general conditions of sale online may be changed without notice and must therefore be consulted before placing any order.

Cancelation Policy

For the wine tasting experiences:
  • 100% refund if cancelled 48hrs or earlier;
  • 50% refund if cancelled between 48 to 24hrs;
  • Non refundable less that 24hr notice

If we for any reason cancel your reserved and prepaid wine tasting we guarantee to refund 100% of the prepaid amount.

Changes to this Terms & Conditions

We reserve the right to make change to this Terms & Conditions.
